Our play-based program follows the rules and guidelines set by the Early Years Branch of the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education.
We understand the multiple benefits for children of playing outside and connecting with nature, so we are outside in all kinds of weather all year long. We stay within the minimum and maximum limits of temperature and wind set by the Ministry.
Our day is loosely broken into chunks of time. Every day, time is planned for free play when children are able to choose their own activities. We use emerging interests shown by the current group of children to plan specific activities.
We encourage a mix of individual and small group programming that are:
- Child initiated and adult initiated
- Active and quiet
- Promoting physical, cognitive, social-emotional, and language development
- Culturally expansive
